In the 18th Century, Katherine the Great invited ethnic Germans to colonize and farm the Volga River region in southeastern Russia. They would later be known as the Volga River Germans or "Wolgadeutsche." Though they were allowed to maintain their German culture, language, and traditions, living in Russia had an influence on their food traditions. Enter bierocks: a delicious mixture of shredded roast beef or ground beef, cabbage, onions, salt, & lots of black pepper, baked into a yeast roll. A typical type of food found in Eastern Europe, not Germany. At the end of the 19th Century, Volga Germans emigrated en mass to Kansas & Washington; but the majority called Fresno County, home. They brought their new food traditions with them.
For over 100 years, Bierocks has been part of Fresno County; and has been a Bullard Band tradition for over 20! Whether you are brand new to the band or have been around a while, you'll want to try our Bierocks! We definitely take pride in our product. Our dough and filling are made from scratch. Each bierock is carefully made and inspected before it is baked and wrapped. They can be eaten right away or frozen for later. The original "Hot Pocket." Serve them for Dinner, Lunch, a snack; heck, they work for breakfast too!
And that's all I have to say about that. Except... ORDER YOURS TODAY! They will be ready for pick-up on Saturday, November 9th.
